About ESC

When students arrive at the English School of Canada, the first thing that they notice is that our school is different. At ESC, we take the time to discuss and understand your needs. We know that you are coming to Canada to improve your English language skills, and our goal is to help you meet that objective.

When you arrive at ESC, you will meet the Directors and have a personal orientation tour of the school. Then we work with you to assess your personal needs and objectives - you will complete a skills assessment test, and we will recommend a program and class schedule to ensure that you can meet your personal goals.

Learning English includes practicing your skills outside of the classroom. Our additional Educational Services are provided so that your learning continues even after your classes.

Educational Services:

  • The Student Multi-Media Centre
  • Free Internet use
  • English CD-ROM materials for self-directed study
  • Pronunciation audio tapes for self-directed study
  • Library and Daily Newspapers
  • Special guest speakers & learning workshops
  • Free English film & movie screenings
  • Keyboarding & typing lessons
  • Evening classes & conversation club
  • Resume workshops, editing and proofreading service

At the end of the day, we want you to relax and enjoy yourself. After classes, we offer many school activities for your enjoyment. Watch a movie, play soccer, go to a baseball game, or visit the art gallery with your new friends and a teacher. On weekends, there are excursions to other cities and famous sites. We have something for everyone's interests! All activities are optional, and some have an extra cost.

Excellence in Education

The key to learning how to speak English is finding a program that works for you. At the English School of Canada, our students improve their English because our programs deliver top quality service and the latest developments in ESL education.

Our English programs assist our students in achieving communicative and linguistic competence in English. We ensure our students' English skills improve in a number of ways:

  • First, we give our students personal attention.
  • Second, we follow the new Canadian national standards for ESL curriculum and instruction methodology.
  • Third, our English programs utilize a standard set of tools for meaningful language assessment, evaluation, and instruction.
  • Fourth, our teachers pass a rigorous selection process and are certified instructors.
  • Finally, at ESC, we aim to help you meet your goals.
